About Starguo

An independent British review, published daily from London and supported by its readers.

Starguo is a digital news and features review covering British public life — politics and the economy, technology and culture, sport and the way we live. We have no proprietor pulling strings and no party allegiance. Our only obligation is to our readers, and our aim is simple: to report clearly, to explain honestly, and to be worth the time it takes to read us.

What we stand for

We believe most stories are more interesting than the headlines about them, and that readers are perfectly capable of handling nuance. We separate reporting from comment, we correct our mistakes openly, and we resist the temptation to manufacture drama where there is none.

Editorial standards

We are committed to accurate, fair reporting and to the prompt correction of any significant error, and we follow recognised standards of editorial practice. If we get something wrong, please tell us — our complaints procedure explains how.

How we are funded

We are funded principally by reader subscriptions rather than advertising. That model keeps us accountable to the people who read us and to no one else. You can subscribe here.
